MOD MAVENS PROJECT BRIEF || MY PAPER PRINTABLES || TRACI GIBSON
THE ISSUE: Expanding Product Line + Need Shoppers. How do I launch a new product successfully?
Traci Gibson is a true design talent and the owner of My Paper Printables, Traci & Co blog + Blue Door Quilt Co. She believes in + built her brand around “adding creativity to your everyday life”. On her blog, she has posts that include DIY, creative ideas for holidays, recipes, how-to tips, free printable downloads + vacation tips for families.
Traci contacted the Mavens because her product focus recently shifted to printables + instant downloads - all available through her My Paper Printables ETSY store. She has had great success with her “mini” letters from the Tooth Fairy and Elf on the Shelf and decide to expand her product offerings. She came to the Mavens with a new product, an adorable Kid’s Travel Journal and with a little panic / question … how do I launch this product successfully?
THE SOLUTION: Product Images + Design + Strategic Social Launch
—CAMPAIGN VOICE + MESSAGING
—SOCIAL MEDIA + MARKETING CAMPAIGN
—SOCIAL MEDIA GRAPHICS
First, the Mavens calmed Traci’s fears by showing her real examples of how they’ve executed successful launches. They turned her apprehension into excitement!
As a new kid product, it was important to create playful + bright + telling images. Tracy set-up a shoot as if camping, road trips, ice cream afternoons were actually taking place - staging real vacation scenarios to capture the true uses of the travel journal. In addition to product photos, Traci needed a new headshot. As you know by now, the Mavens are not fans of the same-old head shot - BORING! Tracy was able to capture Traci’s personality beautifully through a colorful and fluid shot!
Next up, DESIGN! Jennifer’s design elements matched the product’s energy + adventure vibe perfectly. By creating social media teasers + launch graphics, the travel journal had an on-brand, gorgeous home. Jennifer + Traci worked together to finetune elements of the journal - making sure that each page matched Traci’s vision. Jennifer is excellent at keeping your brand in the forefront while helping you achieve your goal. The end product is fantastic!
Without a big, existing social presence, Vanessa needed to get to focus social efforts and work to create an audience prior to the product launch. Through a strategic social launch schedule, ramping up engagement and by utilizing the small business network and fan base of the Mavens, the travel journal now had a vehicle to soar. By using Traci’s existing My Paper Printables product line, Vanessa was able to showcase Traci’s design talents before launching the new product - giving new customers an idea of Traci’s talents + abilities. When it was time to announce the Kid’s Travel Journal, it was a celebration + was supported by Traci’s new community of fans!
